バン、バン！ 駐車した車から降り立つ二つの人影。 その二人の向ける視線の先には、荒れ果てたかつてのビル外が立ち並んでいた。 渋谷廃墟・・・・７年前、宇宙から飛来した隕石によって壊滅した、かつての東京の街。 そして、ＺＥＣＴにとってはここは、最重要機密の眠る場所、エリアＸでもあった。 「我々以外は誰も通すな。いいな。」 車から降りたその長身の男は、この廃墟の入り口を守るゼクトルーパーに念を押させる。 「ハッ！」 トルーパーの小気味のいい返事を聞くと、男・・・ＺＥＣＴの最高幹部、三島・・・は、その手にジェラルミンケースを携えて、廃墟の奥へと進んでいく。 それに付いていくのは、冬でもないのに分厚い白いコートを着た、見慣れない女だった。 服だけではなく、その髪に至るまでが白。 それに着膨れているのか、その体躯は男のように頑強だった。 「いよいよこのハイパーゼクターも、最終試験段階にはいった・・・。」 「今回の実用試験が成功すれば、すぐにでも実戦投入し、手始めに我々に従わないライダーどもを排除する。」 三島が、自分の斜め後ろを歩く女に話しかける。 「その役目をこの私に頂けるなんて・・・。私のようなただの女に。」 「私には、少々荷が重すぎる気がします。」 女は、その姿に似合わない丁寧な口調で三島に答える。 「ＺＥＣＴは実力主義だ。どのような者でも、実力さえあればのし上がることが出来る。」 「特にお前は、生身で幼生ワームにストリートファイトを吹っかけ、あまつさえ仕留めている。そのような人物こそ、我らＺＥＣＴでは重用すべきなのだ。」 「仕留めた・・・といっても、私はその後ワームの大群に囲まれ、まさに殺される一歩手前だった訳ですけどね。」 「そんな私を、ＺＥＣＴは拾ってくださりました・・・。恩を返す意味でも、私はその役目を果たしたいと思います。」 「気難しく考える事はない・・・。お前はただ、お前の望みを我らＺＥＣＴを利用して、果たせばいいのだ。」 「誰よりも強く、最強である・・・それこそが、私の望み。」 「過去、あまりの強さに格闘技界を追放されたお前の、新たなステージ・・・それがこの世界だ。」 「はい・・・。私はここで、世界最強の座を頂く事になるのですね。」 「そうだ・・・。全てはここからだ。このハイパーゼクターが、我々の未来を切り開いてくれる。」 そういうと、三島はその右腕に下げたジェラルミンケースを見やった。 よく見るとその取っ手は手錠によって手首とつなげられており、簡単には奪えないようになっていた。 ハイパーゼクターにかける、三島の重要視の姿勢が窺えた。 二人が歩く先は、かつての駅ビルの跡。 その下にはＺＥＣＴの閉鎖された研究施設が眠っている。 そここそが二人の目指す場所であり、ハイパーゼクターの実験を行なう場所であった。 駅の下に広がっていた、広大な地下道を三島は迷いもせずにどんどんと進んでいく。 それについていく白いコートの女も、瓦礫で荒れた道を足音をまるで乱すことなく一定の距離を保つ。 やがて二人は、何本もの地下道が交錯する広場へと出た。 そこに、二人を待っていたかのように、一人の人物が立っていた。 「・・・・・・・・・。」 白いコートの女が一歩前へ歩み出る。 その眼光は鋭くその人物を射抜き、あふれる殺気はその場を満たす。 『あわてるな。俺は別にあんたらと戦いに来た訳じゃない。』 人物は口を開く。 両手を挙げると、敵意のないことを示した。 「・・・貴様、加賀美 新・・・。いや、擬態したワームか。」 その姿を認めた三島が一歩前に出て、そう指摘する。 『そういうこと。あんたらから頂いた黒いガタックゼクターは有効に使わせてもらっていますよ。』 「・・・行くぞ黒崎。コイツの目的が我々ではない以上、ここに長居する理由もない。」 「・・・・・はっ。」 白いコートを羽織った黒崎と呼ばれた女は、三島とともに擬態加賀美の横を通り抜けていく。 擬態加賀美もまた、それ以上二人に声をかけることはしなかった。 （そうだ・・・俺の目的は加賀美 新、唯一人。） （ダークガタックゼクターが教えてくれる・・・。対になる者の存在を。） （奴は必ずここに来る！・・・ＺＥＣＴとワームが何を考えていようが関係ない。） （加賀美新を、ガタックを倒す。それが俺の存在意義なのだからな・・・！！） ・・・・・・・・・・・・・。 ビィィィィィィィ・・・！ 風を切り、街の中をバイクで飛ばす。 今乗っているのは、前にＺＥＣＴから支給されたガタック専用バイク、ガタックエクステンダー。 そして今向かっているのは、旧渋谷・・・エリアＸだ。 あの喪服の女からもたらされた情報・・・。 ＺＥＣＴが新たに開発したというハイパーゼクターを求めて、俺はＺＥＣＴの閉鎖地域であるエリアＸに向かっていた。 それがどのようなものなのかは分からないが、ワーム側が「これ以上ない戦力」と言うからには放って置けない。 それに・・・。 （思い上がらないで。お前如きに何が出来ると言うの？） （ひよりを救うつもり？私を救うつもり？そんなことが出来るわけがないでしょう？） 天道・・・。 俺にひよりやお前を救う力がないって言うなら、手に入れてみせる！ お前を認めさせるだけの、力を! 俺はアクセルを思いっきり絞込み、全速力で渋谷に向かった。 今、天道に対して抱いている気持ちがなんなのか、分からないまま。 俺の中にあるのは、ただ天道を見返したい、その一心だった。 ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・。 ・・・・・・・・・・・。 ・・・・・・・・・。 ・・・・目を覚ます。 昼も夜も分からないこの暗闇の中で、僅かな隙間から入るこの視界だけが、自分の生きている証。 代わり映えのしない鉄格子。 四方をすっぽり覆う、薄汚れた壁。 牢獄といっても差し支えないし、実際ここはそうなのだろう。 両腕は壁の鎖によって拘束され、自由などとうの昔に奪われたままだ。 耳は塞がれているし、口を利くことも出来ない。 頭と首はがっちりと固定されて、辺りを見回すことも適わない。 こんな環境に身を置けば、唯一許された自由である頭の思考は、自分をこんな状態にしたものへの怒りと憎しみで満たされる。 何時しか私は、言葉も自分が何者であるかさえも忘れて、時折ここにやってくる「あの連中」を憎むだけの存在に堕ちていった。 ガチャ・・・・。 鉄格子の向こうにある、この牢獄への唯一のドアが開く。 よくここにやってくる、長身のあの男の姿が見えた。 その腕には、白銀のジェラルミンケースが握られ、その取っ手と男の腕は、手錠で繋がれていた。 男はゆっくりと、世界と私を隔てる鉄格子に近づくと、私の顔を覗き込んだ。 「よう、まだ生きてるか？え？」 男は愉快そうにニヤニヤと笑み、そんな事を話した。 ここまで近づくと、塞がれた耳でも相手の声が聞こえる。 そんなの分かりきってるくせに。 私がずっとずっとこのまま生きている事は、こいつも承知しているはずなのに。 『グッ、ウオオオオオオオオオオ・・・・・・！！！！』 くぐもった声が僅かに外に出る。 何かいってやりたいが、声を満足に出すことも出来ないし、・・・何年も人間と会話などしていないので、言葉が出るはずもない。 私のそんな様子を、男はさも愉快そうに見つめる。 それがまた腹立たしく、私は更にうなり続けた。 「怒りと憎しみで言葉も忘れたか・・・！？」 「お前は所詮我々ＺＥＣＴのモルモット（実験動物）・・・。このハイパーゼクターの実験台になれることを、誇りに思え！！」 『ウグゥッ！グアアアッ！！！アアアアアアアアアアッ！！！！！』 わめき続ける私を尻目に、男はケースからなにやら小さな銀色に光るものを取り出した。 「これより、ハイパーゼクターの実験を行う。」 男はそれを手に立ち上がると、傍らに立つもう一人の人物に声をかけた。 「・・・・・・・・・。」 何時の間に入って来ていたのか、その人物は、その長身の男の言葉に静かに頷いた。 僅かな明かりしか差さないこの牢獄において、そのもう一人の人物のいでたちは、あまりに眩しく見えた。 真っ白い純白のスーツに身を包み、その上から、スネまで届くような純白のロングコートを羽織っている。 その胸には見たことのない青いバラが挿されていた。 寒い地域の外国の人間がかぶるような、暖かそうな白い帽子の下にあるのは、やはり白い色の長い髪をした、女の顔だった。 「万が一、こいつが暴れだすようなことがあれば・・・その時はお前に任せる。」 言葉を発したのは、長身の男。 白い髪の女はその言葉に対し、胸のバラを一撫ですると、すっと頭を下げた。 ガチャァン・・・・。 男が鉄格子の鍵を外し、私の世界へと入ってくる。 「さて・・・「変身」してもらおうか。」 「不本意ながら、「あのゼクター」を御せるのはお前だけ。」 「我々の実験の為に、さあ、変身するんだ！」 『グッ！アアアア・・・アアアアアアアアア・・・・・・・・・・！！！！』 私は僅かでも抵抗の意思を見せる為に、身を捩らせて抗う。 ジャラジャラと、腕を縛る鎖が鳴る。 「ククク・・・健気だ。」 男はそれの何がおかしいのか、心底嬉しそうに笑った。 「弱いものが抗おうとするさまは非常に滑稽だ。愛らしくさえある・・・！」 「だがなぁ！！」 ドゴッ！！ ・・・・・・・！！！！ 息が詰まる。 男は私の腹に向かって足を突き出し、蹴りを入れた。 その衝撃で呼吸がつまり、私は動きを止めてしまう。 「・・・おいたが過ぎる相手には・・お仕置きが必要だ。立場を弁えるんだな！」 ガッ！ 男は、うなだれる私の鉄仮面を掴み、顔を上げさせる。 「さあ変身しろ・・・！モルモットであるお前に拒否権などない！」 ・・・・・・・・・・・・・・。 ダヒュウウウウウンッ！ 渋谷の廃墟を、一迅の青い風が吹き抜けていく。 前回侵入した記憶を頼りに、渋谷の街を超高速移動を行なって駆け抜ける。 見張りに立つゼクトルーパー達をやり過ごし、地下へと降りる。 以前ここに来たときより、妙に見張りの兵士の数が増えていたのが気になったが・・・。 一度侵入を許してしまったから、それで警備を強化したのだろうか？ それにしてもトルーパーたちはいつもより緊張した様子だった。 しきりに辺りを見回していたし・・・。 やはり、ここでハイパーゼクターの実験が行われると言うのは本当なんだ。 だからこその警備、警戒。 まあ、こうやってライダーにクロックアップされたら、どうしようもないんだけどな・・・。 頑張って任務を全うしようとしている彼らには気の毒だが、俺は悠々とエリアＸの最深部へと進んでいった。 地下道に下り、更にその先のあの研究室を目指して降りる。 「マスクドライダー計画」と書かれたファイルや、謎のうめき声が聞こえたあの場所へ。 エリアＸといっても、地表は殆どが渋谷の倒壊したビル街が続くだけで、めぼしい場所といえばそこしかない。 暗い足元を確認しながら、ガレキの転がる悪路を慎重に歩く。 目的地まではあと少し。 ここまで順調に進むと、かえって不気味だが・・・ ダヒュウウウウンッ！！！ 「っ！！！」 ギィィンッ！！！ 「ぐあっ・・・！！」 暗闇の向こうから、クロックアップして突っ込んでくる何かが見えた。 咄嗟に体をかわしたから軽いダメージですんだが、その斬撃の前にライダースーツが火花を上げた。 『Ｃｌｏｃｋ Ｏｖｅｒ』 『かわしたか・・・。ライダーに変身しておいて正解だったようだな。加賀美 新。』 その一撃を加えたのは、・・・もうこの状況ではすっかりお馴染みとなった、あの相手だった。 「またお前か！ダークガタック！！」 『もうお互い、かける言葉も必要ないだろう？』 「・・・ああ。いい加減、俺もお前が目障りになってきたよ・・・！！！」 両肩からガタックダブルカリバーを外し、構える。 『思い上がるな。今からここで行なうのは戦いじゃない・・・。』 『既に俺に敗れたお前が、今ここで勝つ可能性など微塵もない。』 『俺が行なうのは・・・・敗残者の処分だ！！！』 『Ｃｌｏｃｋ Ｕｐ』 ダヒュウウンッ！！！ ダークガタックがクロックアップに入った！！ 俺もまたベルトを叩き、超高速移動へと入る！ 『Ｃｌｏｃｋ Ｕｐ』 ダヒュウウウウウウウウンッ！！ 俺と奴は通常の時間の流れを逸脱し、超高速の世界での戦いを開始する・・・！ ガァン！ キィンッ！！ カリバー同士が火花を散らす！ 振りぬく一撃をいなし、繰り出す反撃もまた止められ、一進一退の攻防が続く。 だが、前に戦ったときほどの力の差は感じない。 受け止める攻撃は俺と全く変わらないし、速度も追いつけないほどじゃない。 気に留める事がないからか、体が頭に素直に従順する。 迷いも戸惑いも今は感じない。 今の俺は、こいつと戦うことだけを考えて動けている・・・! 『チッ・・・！以前よりも動きがいい・・・！』 俺の動きに、奴も戸惑う。 力比べで以前勝っていたはずの相手に、刃と刃を合わせる力比べで押し切れない。 『お前、一体何があった！？』 「さあな！ただ今の俺は、お前との戦いに集中している！それだけだ！」 『チィッ・・・！！』 バッ！！ 「うわっ！？」 その時、奴が両手のガタックカリバーを手放した！ 支えるものがなくなった俺はつんのめり、バランスを崩す。 『づああああっ！！！』 バギイッ！！！ 「ぐっ！！」 その隙に、奴は俺の両手目掛けてミドルキックを放ち、俺の手からもカリバーを奪う! 『そりゃああああっ！！！』 ドシィンッ！！ 「おおおっ！？」 次に奴は俺の腹目掛けて肩から突撃し、バランスを崩した俺をそのまま肩に抱えて持ち上げた！ 『オルァアッ！！』 ドサアッ！！ そのまま俺を後へ落とし、俺は背中から地面に叩きつけられた! 『そらああっ！！！』 俺に向かって肘を落とす！ でも、それはいつも俺がやってることだ、読めているッ！！ 「うらあっ！！！」 ガシィッ！！ 『ぬああああっ！？』 倒れた状態のまま、相手の顔面に向かって右足のキックを突き出した！！ 反撃をまともに受けたダークガタックは、その威力で吹き飛ぶ！ ドサアアアッ！ 「まだだ・・・！まだ！！」 『加賀美ぃ、新ぁああああ・・・！！！！』 同時に起き上がる俺達。 俺は負けない・・・！！ 負けられない！！！ この先に待つハイパーゼクターが・・・俺に更なる力をくれるなら！！！ 俺はこんなところで立ち止まれないんだッ！！！！ 『Ｏｎｅ』 『Ｔｗｏ』 『Ｔｈｒｅｅ』 そしてやはり、同時にベルトに手をかける。 ボタンを３度押し、そして・・・！！ 「ライダァァァァァ！！！」 『キィィィックッ！！！！！』 ダッ！！ 駆け出す二人のガタックの足に、ライダーキックのエネルギーが満ちていく！ バンッ！！ 地を蹴った! 飛び上がった俺達は同時に右足を繰り出す・・・！！！！！ 「はあぁっ！！」 『ウルァアアアッ！！!』 バヂイイイイイイイッ！！！！！ 空中で交差する必殺のキック！！！！ そのすさまじいエネルギーから発する光は、暗い地下道を昼のように白く照らした！！！ 「うあ・・・っ！！」 『ぐううっ！！！』 ドサアッ！ 俺と奴は弾け合い、互いに吹き飛ばされて地に落ちた! 「ぐううう、う・・・・！！」 まだ戦いは終わっていない！ 俺はすぐに立ち上がろうと、右足に力を込めた。 「うっ！？」 感覚が、俺の足が地面を着いている感覚がない。 触れてみても、なんの感触もない。 足が、痺れているのか！？ いかに頑丈なライダーのスーツでも、ライダーキックのぶつけ合いなんてムチャをやれば、生身の足がどうにかなってしまうのか・・・!
