ここは、雛見沢村。
雄大な自然に囲まれし刻の止まったような印象さえあたえる千紗名村である。
しかし、そんな村であのような惨劇が起きようとはこのとき誰一人知らずにいた。


「今日は、祭りか。たのしみだぜ。」
「うん。楽しみだね。いっぱい思いでつくろうね。」
「そうだな。」
楽しげに会話を交わす二人の元にやってくる少年。
総一「すいません、ちょと道を尋ねたいのですがよろしいですか？」
「ん？別にかまわないぜ。」
「どこに行きたいのかな、かな。」
総一「古手神社にいきたいのですが。」
「神社なら俺たちもこれから向かうとこだし一緒に行くか？」
総一「いいんですか？デートのお邪魔じゃ？」
「ばっ、そんなんじゃねーよ。な、レナ？」
「これってデートなのかな、かな？」
「レナ、落ち着け。ほら、深呼吸しろ。」



緋芽「若いっていいわねー。」
ロウ＜あなたも見た目だけなら充分若いですよ。＞
緋芽「そんなこと言うのはこの口かー！！」
思いっきりロウのほほを両側にひっぱる。
ロウ＜いひゃい、いひゃい。＞



「やぁーみんな元気だねー。」
「あ、富竹さん。」
「今日は、祭りを楽しみに来てくれたのかな、かな。」
「それもあるけど、野鳥を撮りに来た帰りさ。」



「おーい、ケイちゃーん、レーナー。」
手を振りながら駆け寄ってくる緑色の髪をポニーにした少女。
「おす、魅音。」
「みぃーちゃん、こんにちは。」
「やぁー魅音くんは相変わらず元気そうでなによりだよ。」
「そうゆう富竹さんもね。」



総一「なんだかにぎやかになってきたね。」
緋芽「そうね。」
総一「今日はお祭りみたいだし、後で僕たちも楽しんでみようか？」
緋芽「いいわね、それ。」
ロウ＜して、何のお祭りでしょうか？＞
緋芽「村祭りでしょ、ただの。」
それを聞き祭りの説明を始める魅音。
「うーん、なんか初めて祭りを見に来た人もいるみたいだし、説明しとこうか、祭りのこと。」
緋芽「よろしく、頼むわ。」
「うちの村の祭りは＜綿流し＞っていってね。」
総一「綿流しですか。」
「そう、綿流し。まぁー早い話、古くなった布団から綿をぬきとって厄よけの意味を込めてその綿を川に流す祭りさ。」
総一「流し雛みたいなものですね。」
「たしかににている点があるけど、この祭りは村の守り神にささげる一種の儀式みたいな点もあるんだよ。」
ロウ＜なるほど、なるほど。ん？なんです？＞
「か、かぁいいよぉぉー。お持ち帰りぃぃー。」
「お、落ち着け、レナ！！」
「はははっ、ほんとうにかわいい者に目がないんだからレナは。」
緋芽「ここって笑うとこ？」
総一「さぁー。」



そなこんなで神社につくころには日も傾き、きれいな夕焼けが村をてらしていた。
