仮面ライダーイグナイト　第二十八話　古の記憶


「ここって、ソナタ？」
光が収まり回復した視界の先に移るのは、自分達の城であるソナタの看板が出迎えていた。

『いかにも。わらわが転移の術を使ってここまで運んだのじゃ。』
後ろに控えていた親友は、普段とは違う声で祥子達に語りかけていく。首にぶら下げた宝珠は
変身を解いた今でも仄かな輝きを保っている。

「彩乃！？そうだ彩乃！どうしちゃったの彩乃！」
「ねぇ何がどうなっちゃったっていうの！？」
「落ち着きなさい二人とも！気持ちは分かるけど、こういう時こそ冷静になりなさい！」
突然の親友の異変に我を忘れた二人を、祥子はあえて落ち着いた態度で諭した。

「はい・・・・」
祥子に言われ、ようやく二人は彩乃から一歩離れた。

「さて、見苦しい所を見せちゃったわね。彩乃じゃない誰かさん。」
『かまわぬ。それだけこの者を慕っているのじゃろうて。』
「ここで話をするのも野暮ね。行くわよあんた達。」
「あ、はいっ。」
来いとばかりにソナタを指差し、祥子は呆然としている三人の尻を引っぱたいていく。

「それに私達を逃がしてくれたのも、今回の件に関して色々と話してくれるからじゃなくて？」
『ほう、さすがは武下家の女子。思慮深さと洞察力は千年経った今も受け継がれていたか。無論そのつもりじゃ。
　そのつもりでこの娘の身体を借りているのじゃからな。』
「こちとら色々と分からない事が多すぎるのよ。あの殲鬼姫と名乗る荒魔や、五荒星冥獄陣
発動に合わせて出現したあの鬱陶しい黒雲とかね。」
親指で憎々しく指差す先には、陽の光を遮る程の分厚い黒雲が厚かましく空を覆っていた。






「どうぞ。お口に合えば良いのですが～。」
『これはかたじけない。』
休憩室のソファに腰掛ける彩乃ではない誰かは、春姫の入れた紅茶の匂いに舌鼓を打ちながら静かに啜り上げた。

『うむ、初めて飲む味だが中々美味い。現世の人間はこのような茶を嗜むのか。』
「横槍を入れるようで悪いけど、こちらの本題を聞いてはもらえないかしら？」
『おおそうであったな。すまぬ。』
カップをソーサーに置き、彩乃ではない誰かは正面のソファに腰を下ろす祥子に目を向けた。

「それじゃあ本題に入りましょう。まず、貴方はいったい何者？」
祥子の質問に彩乃でなはい誰かは、宝珠を優しくいじりながら静かに口を開いた。

『わらわは、この宝珠に眠っていた先代の炎の封魔師、初代葉月家当主の魂じゃ。』
「「「な、なん(ですって)だってー！！？」」」
いきなりの発現に、祥子以外の三人はM○R張りのオーバーリアクションの反応をしているが、
祥子は一人冷静な態度で耳を傾けていた。

『わらわは殲鬼姫が復活した時、深き眠りから目を覚ますよう術をかけられていた。本来なら
目覚めずに永遠に眠り続けてるべきだったんじゃが。それと、この娘のことなら心配はいらぬ、
この者の魂は今わらわが外に出ている代わりに深い眠りについておるだけじゃ。わらわが
宝珠に戻ればすぐに目を覚ますじゃろう。』
「そうか、良かった・・・・・」
「心配掛けさせないでよ。まったく・・・・・」
親友に大事が無いのが分かると、二人は大きな安堵のため息を洩らしながら上がりっぱなしの漸く肩を落とした。

『うむ、わらわの遠い娘は良き友をもっておるようじゃの。これからもわらわの遠き娘の力になってくれ。』
「小さな感動に水指すようだけど、こちらの質問はまだ終わってないわ。続き、よろしいかしらご先祖様？」
『これは済まぬ。話を続けてたもれ。』
「次の質問よ。あの上級スペクター、あなたで言えば蝶荒魔達が描いた五荒星冥獄陣とはいったいなんなの？」
これから話す準備をするべく、先祖は再び紅茶を啜り喉を潤すと、再び重い口を開けた。

『五荒星冥獄陣、それは彼奴ら荒魔の中でも高位のものしか扱えぬ、高度の魔術なのじゃ。恐怖と苦痛、
　絶望といった陰に満ちた何百何千もの人々の魂を楔に変え五芒星の魔法陣を描く。用途は色々有るが
一番の使い道は、魔法陣に覆った範囲を荒魔にとって住み良い環境へと激変させること。
豊かな大地を荒廃させ、澄んだ水を濁らせ、蒼い空を光指さぬ黒く塗り潰す。まさに今のようにな。』
そう言い先祖は、ふてぶてしく空にふんぞり返っている黒雲を悔しげに指差した。

「じゃああいつらは、そんな事のために罪もない人達の命を！」
怒りを隠すことなく、眞子は指が突き刺さらんばかりに拳を握り締めた。奈々美も春姫も、そして祥子も
顔には出さないが、瞳には激情とも取れる確かな怒りの炎が灯っていた。

「それじゃこれが一番の本題なんだけど、あの五荒星冥獄陣の発動と同時に現れた荒魔、殲鬼姫とは一体何者？
　何故荒魔であるはずの奴が私達と同じ、それも魔とは相反する光の宝珠を持っているの？」
『殲鬼姫・・・・・・・』
祥子の口から出てきた名前を聞いた途端、先祖の顔が大きく歪んだ。出来れば触れたくないといった雰囲気が感じられてくる。
しかしこれこそが祥子達にとって一番知りたい疑問なのだ。例えどんな酷な内容が待っているかもしれないが、
それを覚悟してでも知らなくてはならない信実が待っているのは、眞子でも理解できる。祥子達は
先祖の重い口が再び開くを待ち続けた。

『少々酷な話になるかもしれぬが、それでも構わぬか？』
「当然よ。」
「ヒーローは危険を乗り越えてこそヒーローです。」
「覚悟はこれからも承知の事実ですから。」
「虎穴に入らずんば虎子を得ずです～。」
『よかろう。ではどこから話そうか。千年前の忌々しき戦いの歴史を。』
自分の遠い娘の戦友達の勇気ある返事に勇気をもらったようで、先祖は僅かに安堵の顔を見せながら再び口を開けてくれた。




『かつてわらわが生前の頃、この地、今の日の本いずる国は人と魔の境界が確立していない世界であった。
魔に属する者達は人々の地に跋扈し、力なき民の血を啜り肉を喰らい、この地の真の住人と言わんばかりに
　蹂躙と殺戮の限りを尽くしていた。それはこの天明の都も勿論例外ではなかった。じゃが、そのような
魔の者と戦い天明の人々の平穏の時を護っていた陰陽師の一人が、わらわの葉月家であった。わらわ達は
彼奴らに対抗すべく、強大なる封魔の力を秘めた宝珠を創り上げた。生憎強大すぎる力ゆえ
　量産は叶わずじまいで終わったしまったがの。ここまではお主らも知っておるじゃろう。』
「ええ。でもちょっと待って、もしかして完成した宝珠って私達の五行の宝珠と」
祥子の頭に浮かんだ一つの予想を汲み取るように、先祖は小さく頷いた。

『おぬしの考えたと通りじゃ。完成した宝珠は六つ。うち五つはおぬしらが今所持している五行の宝珠。
そして最後の一つは、殲鬼姫が持っておる光の宝珠じゃ。』
「やっぱりね。」
『６つの宝珠は天明の都でいずれも文武に劣らぬ一族に託された。雷の宝珠は雷鳴の如き閃きを讃えた武下家が。水の宝珠を
慈愛の身心を宿した牧野家が。風の宝珠と土の宝珠は今は亡き織部家と美鏡家が。炎の宝珠を、
勇猛果敢で知られた葉月家が。ここまではわらわ達もある程度記録を残しておいたから知っておるじゃろう？」
「ええ。知ってるわ。でもそこから先、つまり光の宝珠とそれを所有していた一族の記録は無い。」
『お主らが知らぬのも無理は無い。最後の宝珠、光の宝珠の持ち主の摩守家は歴史の表から抹殺された一族なのじゃからな。』
「摩守家？」
初めて聞く名前に奈々美と眞子は首を傾げる。二人の方に目を向けるが、先祖の通り記録は
抹消されていたのか、二人も知らないとばかりに首を横に振った。

『摩守家はわらわの葉月家と同じ陰陽師の家柄でな。その当時では陰陽師の間では知らぬ者のない名門であった。
その摩守家の当主、名を閃華(せんか)といってな。閃華はこの天明の都史上、いや、陰陽道の歴史上
最強と言わしめた程の存在であった。それだけでなく、遥か先を見つめる思慮深さ。誠実な物腰。
威厳と貫禄に満ちた雰囲気。そして、誰も扱う事さえ叶わぬと言わしめた光の宝珠を手足の如く
操る比類なき真の実力。いつしか人々は閃華を神の子とまで讃えだした。』
「でもそれほどの人物が、何故歴史から抹消されなくてはいけなかったの？」
眞子は首を傾げてはいるが、祥子は有る程度予想していた。それ程の実力とカリスマを持っている存在なら、
国の権力者から煙たがられ自分達を脅かす脅威と見なされ歴史から抹殺されるなどそう珍しい話じゃない。

『最初は閃華を英雄として讃え、閃華もそれに応えるかの如く妖魔と戦い続けた。じゃが、その翡翠のように
美しい瞳に隠れる禍々しい欲望に気付いているのは、ごく僅かであった。』
どこかお茶を濁すような言葉から察したのか、祥子がいち早く予想を述べた。

「反逆・・・・ね・・・・」
『その通りじゃ･･･････』
今度はささやかながらも、どこからか怒りを感じさせる口調になり話を再開した。

『閃華は天明の都を乗っ取るべく、自分の手駒を増やす為に民を誑かしていたに過ぎず、
力なき民を守る気など始めから毛頭なかったのじゃ。』
「しかし閃華は戦いに敗れ命を落とした。」
『そうじゃ。閃華は自分に賛同する人々を引き連れ天明の都を襲った。本来同じ都に住む者同士が、
たった一人の人間の愚かな欲望に巻き込まれ殺し合い、憎み合うなど、あってはならないがな。
奴の指導力も相まって、反乱軍との戦いは激しい熾烈を極めた。しかし所詮は多勢に無勢。
反乱軍は徐々に数を減らし、閃華も苦戦を強いられながらもわらわ達五行の封魔師に破れ、
閃華は付き従っていた側近もろとも処刑がなされた。』

戦いから二日後。五行の封魔師参加の下、閃華と直属の側近達の処刑が行なわれた。処刑は順調に進んだ。
側近の処刑が迅速に終わり、最後に残ったのは閃華だけとなった時、混沌の幕が上げられたのだ。

『罪人よ、最後に言いの残す言葉はあるか？あるのなら申してみよ。』
しかし閃華の顔には薄っすらと不気味な笑みが張り付いていた。死をまじかに控えた状況で気でも狂ったのかと
周りが騒ぎ立てだした。一方閃華は周りの騒ぎなどお構いなく、小声で祈るように何かを呟いている。

『閃華！貴様何を面妖な真似を！』
『構わぬ、死する者が最後に唱える念仏じゃろう。好きにさせよ。』
重鎮達に咎められ、執行人は静かに閃華の唱える呪文が終わるのを待った。仮に何かしらの術を使おうとしても、
宝珠は奪われた上、魔封じの鎖で縛られている状態で何をしても無駄だ。最初は誰もがそう思っただろう。
しかし閃華がしようとしている事は、誰一人として予想できなかったおぞましいものだった。

呪文はそこで予告無しに終了した。処刑人は頃合だと見計らい、剣の照準を閃華の首にあわせようとした瞬間、
閃華は突如不気味な笑い声を飛ばしだした。

『くくくくくくくくく････････あーっはっはっはっはっはっはっは！』
『閃華！貴様何がおかしい！とうとう気でも狂ったか！？』
『ふふふふふふふふふふふ････････愚かな奴等じゃ。とっととわらわの首を落とせば死なずに済んだものを。』
『貴様まだその様な戯言を！やれ！そ奴の首を叩き落とせ！』
命を受けた執行人はすかさず剣を振り下ろすが、突如として異変が生じた。突如として、処刑場から、
何百ものエクトプラズムを思わせる赤黒い光球が出現し、閃華を中心に漂いだしたのだ。

『この地に彷徨いし妖魔の怨念よ、今こそわが盟約のもと我に絶対なる存在の意義を与えよ！！！！！』
光の球は閃華の命聞き入れるかのごとく、閃華の体内へと次々に取り込まれていった。

『な、何をしておる！早くそ奴を斬れ！』
栽培官は執行人に我を忘れるように力の限り剣を振り下ろすが、閃華から放たれる閃光に目を瞑るしか出来なかった。
それは処刑に立ち会った封魔師達も例外ではない。

『ふふふふふふふ････････はーっはっはっはっはっはっは！！天生じゃ、脆弱なる人間の殻を破り、
　真のあるべき姿へと天生したぞ！』
収まった光の先に現れた者、そこには人間を捨て荒魔という新たな命を持って転生した邪悪の根源が立ち尽くしていた。

『もはやきさんら虫けらと同じ命になど未練は無い。この時をもって閃華などという忌わしき名を捨て、
　この世に生けとし全ての魔の絶対なる支配者。そうじゃのう、殲鬼とでも名乗ろうかのぉ。』
『な、何をしておる！いかなる手段は厭わぬ！奴を消せ！！』
『『『『『はっ！封魔、転生！！』』』』』
君主の命を受け、五人の封魔師は一斉に殲鬼に飛び掛った。

『鳳凰煉獄脚！！』
『疾風瞬滅弾！！』
『水龍槍！！』
『金剛滅砕槌！！』
『雷逐斬！！』
『くくくくくく･･･････虫けら共が。』
不敵な笑みを浮かべ、殲鬼は翳した左手から生み出した黒い障壁で封魔師達の攻撃を難なく防ぐと、
右手からすかさず無数の黒い魔弾を放ち瞬く間に封魔師をなぎ倒した。

『きゃああああああああ！』
『ふはははははははははははは！心地良い、実に心地良いぞ。人間などという愚直な存在では
決して得られぬ、まさに神と呼ぶしかないこの無双の力！』
高揚する感情を抑えることがないまま、殲鬼は両手を高々と上げ、処刑へ立ち会っていた力なき君主や
執行人を両手から放たれる黒い稲妻の雨を受け悲鳴さえする暇もなく一瞬で散りと化した。

『魔に堕ちるとは・・・・・・・なんと戯けた事を・・・・・・』
かつての戦友の成れの果ての姿を見て愕然とする。まさか自ら魔導に堕ちる道を選ぶとは。なんと愚かで浅ましい。

『さて、次は何をしてやろうか･･･････そうじゃなぁ･･･････こういうのはどうじゃ？fje90fhrivnbfdjbvidnxvfuviabfvj/jvifbxjv bjsbfyehf:nfice::\vorfjvigrjhf8e3fguznbjgfnbx/b vjurjnvi･･･････』
再び殲鬼は禍々しい呪詛の呪文を、魔になっても尚美しい声色で不気味に謡いだした。

『呪怨願いて散りし我が下僕達よ、今こそ我と同じ定めを受け入れ新たな命を喰らい蘇生せよ！』
殲鬼の呪文が終わったのを合図に、首を失った殲鬼の側近達の身体から青白い火の球が飛び出してきた。
しかしそれだけでは終わらなかった。今度は殲鬼に取り憑いた赤黒い光球が現れ、側近達の魂と合わさり黒い光の球に変わった。

『閃華改め殲鬼姫様、我等一同、魔に天生した後も貴方様に仕える事を誓います。』
『あはははははははははははははは！あーっはっはっはっはっはっはっは！なんだか本当に生まれ変わった気分♪
　それだけじゃなくて、今まで以上の力が止めど無く溢れてくる感じがしてくるわ。あーはははははは！』
『この世は舞台。そして我、魔という新たな肩書きを受け入れ新たな舞台で、そして殲鬼姫様を讃えし
　栄光の鐘を鳴らして見せましょう。』
『ふふふふふふふふふふふ。これでまたたっぷりと血や悲鳴を楽しめる。感謝しますよ、殲鬼姫様。』
『この世において生きる権利が与えられる者は力ある者。殲鬼姫様と同じ我等魔の者のみ。』
黒い光球から聞こえる声、それは紛れもなくほんの少し前に全ての命に災いを願い絶命した、殲鬼姫の側近達の声に間違いなかった。

『よくぞ蘇った。我が忠実なる下僕達よ。しかし器となる者がいぬ主等は役立たずの残りかすも同じ。
　今は潔くこの場を引き、改めてこの地に舞い戻ろうか。』
『『『『『はっ！！！！！』』』』』
『念入りに品定めをせよ。どの命に憑けば自分好みの殺し方が出来るか考えながらな。はーっはっはっはっはっは！』
高笑いを上げながら、殲鬼姫は僕の魂とともに空の彼方へと消えていった。



『かつて倒された妖魔の怨念の意識集合体が他の命に憑依して悪しき魔獣となった存在。それが荒魔じゃ。
そして何千もの荒魔に憑依された人間。邪悪な人間の魂と一体となって憑依した荒魔。それが
殲鬼姫と超荒魔の正体。分かってもらえたか。』
「ええ。もしやとは思っていたけれど、まさか人間に憑依したスペクターだったとわね。」
「それだけじゃありません～。今まで戦っていた上級さん達も、元は私達と同じ人間だったなんて～。」
話を聞いた全員驚かずにいられなかった。今まで自分を苦しめてきた超荒魔はおろか、最大の敵である存在が、
自分達と同じ人間だったとは。だが驚くと同時に、人間の底知れぬ欲望と愚かしさを垣間見た気がした。

「でもなんて奴なの。人間を捨ててでも自分の欲望を叶えたいのかしら！？」
「眞子、所詮人間の敵は何時の時代でも同じ人間ってことよ。」
眞子の怒りを、祥子は皮肉を込めた一言で返した。人間の敵は人間。それは人間の歴史が証明している。
人間の歴史は人間同士の戦いの歴史だ。それはとても愚かで悲しい現実だ。

『じゃがここで大きな誤算が生じた。』
「誤算？」
『うむ。知っての通り荒魔に憑依された命は肉体はおろか、自我意識さえ完全に乗っ取られてしまうもの。
　だが殲鬼は何千もの荒魔の力を逆に取り込み、自分の霊力と結びつけさらに強大な力を手にしてしまったのじゃ。
それは奴が持つ宝珠と霊力が持つ光の力と、荒魔が持つ闇の二つの相反する力を一体にできるというもの。
　その恐ろしさは身を持って味わったお主らが一番理解しておるじゃろう。』
祥子達は小さく頷きながら、ほんの少し前に戦った殲鬼姫の強さを思い出していた。強かった、
などという言葉では到底片付けられない。思い出すだけでも震えが止まらない、生物の本能が
警報を上げ続ける純粋な力らから生まれる恐怖。

『荒魔となった殲鬼は、再び天明の都に牙を向いた。今度は人間ではなく、何千もの自分の同族を引き連れてな。』


『人間どもの無力を呪いながら無様に崩れ落ち死を迎える様。何時見ても心地良い・・・・・』
『聞かせてくれ、親を失ったか弱く哀れな小鳥の如き、悲しき絶望の歌を。』
『人間に未来は無い。この地はこの時をもって私達荒魔が貰い受けるわ。』
『あははははははは！あははははははは！逃げて逃げて！もっと逃げて！そして思い知りなさい！
　私達に食われ、死んでいく家畜という新しい役回りをね♡あははははははははは！』
『覚えておけ。力という絶対的な法の下では、貴様等力なき者共は全て罪なのだ。』
丘の頂から、五人の超荒魔達は浮き足立つ気持ちを抑えながら天明の都を見下ろしていた。
そしてその後ろには
何千もの荒魔が今か今かと爪と牙をぎらつかせている。

『くくくくくくくく･･････わらわは帰ってきたぞ。さぁ、今こそ破壊という浄化のもと、この地に住み着く
イナゴどもを消し去り、真なる住人を受け入れるのだ！天明の都よ！』
荒魔の中心に佇む者、まさに王の如く君臨する光と闇の支配者、聖邪が天明の都を黒く塗り潰すべく邪悪な笑みを浮かべていた。

■作者からのメッセージ

どうも、すっかり師走に突入し忙しい毎日を送りながらも新ライダーディケイドにキバの胸糞悪さを
祓ってくれるのを希望中のイタリアーノです。

今回判明した殲鬼姫と超荒魔の正体。宝珠を持っていることから殲鬼姫＝人間だと予想した人もいるかもしれません。
しかし、超荒魔も元は人間だったと予想できた人はいないと思います。ですがこれ、すでに結構前から
決めていた設定でした。物語で祥子が言っていた通り、人間にとって一番の敵は人間しかいない。
だからラスボスやその幹部は人間をベースにした存在でいこうと。これはチープな私の目一杯の皮肉も込められてます。

そして殲鬼姫の変身するライダーの名前ですが、名前は聖邪(せいじゃ)に決まりました。名前の候補には
荒魔をもじって光魔(こうま)というのもあったんですが、聖邪なら光と闇二つの側面が伝わると同時に、
殲鬼姫が荒魔達の聖者であるというイメージにもなるんで、晴れて聖邪が選ばれました。

最後に殲鬼姫の設定ですけど、最初はロリで行こうと考えてました。それは一概にイグナイトにはロリが足りない！
と思っていたからです。イメージ的には無双天使漫画のロリ武将な感じで。幹部達がドS、ナルシー、お嬢、
ナイスミドル、ヤンデレ、と来たんで最後に残った要素はロリしかないと。設定では彩乃達のご先祖様と
同じ年齢だけど、生まれ持った霊力の高さから老化が極端に遅く、幼女の姿を留めている。といったものだったんですが、
冷静に考えてやっぱり最後の最後までじらしてきといてロリキャラがラスボスなんてシリアス展開がぶち壊しだろう。
くわえて、皆様から誇り高い武人で通ってきた黄兜が実は幼女に忠誠を誓ってたロリコンとなると、
もろイメージ崩れるだろうという考えもありまして。

次回は殲鬼姫と彩乃達のご先祖様との決戦編です！

＞茜「・・・というか、殲鬼姫も色物しか集めてないような気がするんだが。ハリネズミ野郎はヘタレで卑怯者、バラ兄ちゃんはナルシスト、サメ女は論外・・・。まともなの、白羽根と黄兜くらいじゃね？」
＞藍「人望はあったろうけどね。まあ選ぶのもアレなわけだし。欲望や力に渇望しているヤツばかり集めたのは賢明だろうね・・・・」
いや、黄兜も白羽根も個人という間隔で見ればまともですが、殲鬼姫という主に仕えてる時点で
もうまともからかけ離れてますし。それにまともな奴が悪党につくわけがありません。


＞怒りを感じずには入られない、まさしく彼女こそ悪であるという一面に憤りました。
＞自分の思い通りにするために、罪もない民を犠牲にし、仲間をも裏切る姿勢にはもはや傲慢でしかありません。完全な悪・・・緊迫感や底知れない悪意も感じ、読むたびに悪の魅力に惹かれそうです。
そう言われると嬉しいです。そこまで怒りを覚えるほどならラスボスの素質は十分にあります。
逆に言えば、そこまで言われなければラスボスの資格はありませんもの。

＞歌「思い上がりも甚だしいです。人の命を弄ぶ好意など、決して許されることではないです！！」
殲鬼姫「それの何が悪い？強きことこそ簡潔かつ完璧な秩序じゃ。ぬしは蟻を殺して罪悪感に見舞われるのか？」
こういう奴です。こういう奴だからラスボスなのです。

＞確かにその通りです。悲しいけど、現実は残酷なものです。
＞しかし、それでも彩乃ちゃんたちみたいに仲間たちを気遣い、助け合うことが出来る人
＞もいるから、世界もそんなに捨てたものではないと思います。
うちの娘たちそこまで持ち上げてくれてありがとうございます！私も時に馬鹿やったり喧嘩したりしながらも
力を合わせ助け合う舞ちゃん達大好きです！
