数週間前 深夜 河川敷 「“お姫様”ねえ」 草薙龍人（くさなぎりゅうと）は道路にバイクをとめ、そうひとりごちた。 『河川敷でお姫様が眠っているわ。迎えに行って差し上げて、王子様』 ラドクリアの言葉の意味は分からず、罠である可能性も示唆されたが、龍人は迷わずここに来た。 それは龍人が剛胆な性格という理由からではない。龍人が単純且つ、 「フヒヒwww 待っててねえ姫ちゃあん。今王子様がちゅっちゅして起こしてあげるからね。 うはっ！ 想像したら俺の“アレ”も起きちまった！！ なんつっててな。フヒヒwww」 度し難いまでの変態だからである。 ◆ 「思えばこの草薙龍人。まったくもってモテない人生であった。だが、そんな人生も今日までだ。 俺が……CどころかAに達するのも一生無理と言われたこの俺が。 ついに、つ・い・に、合法的に女の子と“にゃんにゃん”するチャンスが来やがった！！！」 目からあふれ出る心の汗を拭いつつ、万感の思いを込めて俺は過去を振り返る。 魔法使いになる前に、デ○○ルで済ませてしまおうかと電話を握りしめた時があった。 だが、俺が夢想する『真実の愛』※ギャルゲ及び純愛系エロゲ的展開の事 がそれを良しとしなかった。 『三次元はクソ！ 二次元こそが至高！！』 そう悟りを開こうとした時もあった。 だが、とある妹分の、 『でもさ、このキャラたちって、ゲームのプレーヤーにだったら誰にでも同じ事言うし、 心も体も許しちゃうビ○チだよね』 という一言に絶望した。 だが、挫折や苦悩の全ても今日まで！ と巌のような拳を握りしめ、意気揚々と河川敷の斜面を駆け下りる。 「さて」 ざっ、と砂利を踏みしめ、目をこらしながら辺りを散策する。 夜闇に支配された河川敷に明かりと呼べるものは無く、人捜しには最悪の環境だが、 「あの辺か」 そう呟き、草むらの方へと迷いなく歩き出す。 「ビンゴ！」 パチンと指を弾き、大口を弓にして笑う。 そこには、仰向けになって倒れている紺のセーラー服に身を包んだ少女の姿があった。 なぜ暗闇の中、少女を発見できたのか？ それはオロチの力を手に入れた際に得た“とある能力”に起因する。 その能力は“熱を感知する”というもの。 といっても、“プレデター”みたいな感じに“視覚”として捉えているわけではない。 上手く表現できないが、“気配”として近くに居る“熱を持った生物”を見つけることが出来るのだ。 その範囲はだいたい５０から１００メートル四方。 人気のない河川敷での人捜しには十分すぎる能力だ。 モンスターパニック系の映画かなんかで、蛇とかトカゲとかは熱を感知して獲物を捕らえると聞いたことがあるが、それと似たようなものなのだろうか？ その原理は別に生物学者になりたいわけでもないし、知ったところでどうだって話だが。 まあ、オロチ自身トカゲの化け物だし、似たようなことが出来るんだろうと納得しておく。 「化け物、か……」 思ったことが口に出る。俺の悪い癖だ。 この能力は“異常”だ。 つくづく、俺がもうほとんど人間でないと思い知らされる。 「ま、役に立つなら親でも使えってね」 もっとも俺は親に捨てられ、拾った糞ジジイもおっ死んだわけだが。 ふう、とため息を吐き、倒れている少女を見る。 「やべえ可愛いなおい！」 かなりの上玉だった。 どこかで見たことのある顔な気がするのが引っかかるが、とにかく可愛い。 俺の好みの濡れた黒髪（やっぱり日本人は黒髪が最強だろ）が端正な顔に張り付いて、エロスを感じるし。 雨に濡れた制服がボディラインを浮き立たせてエロスを感じるし。 すらりと伸びた、しなやかで健康的な美脚からエロスを感じるし。 ぷるんとした柔らかそうな唇からエロスを感じるし。 「うほっ！ これはたまらん！！」 鼻息がどんどん荒くなり、口から大量の生唾があふれ出す。 “おあずけ”された犬はこんな気分なのだろうか？ ――私は犬になりたい。（黒髪ボンテージお姉様に飼われたい的な意味で） 「はっ！ いかん。落ち着け龍人！ お前がいま感じている感情は精神的疾患のようなものだ！」 ぶんぶんと首を振って心を落ち着かせ、餓狼と化そうとした理性を鎖でつなぎ止める。 『だめだめ、強○は即逮捕だよ！ いま、陵○系は色々とマズいんだよ！』 そう、脳内幼女系愛天使“ラファエルたん”が訴えかける。だが―― 「これは、違うんだ。これは、“人助け”なんだ。俺は王子様だから、魔女に眠らされたお姫様を助けなきゃいけないんだ」 ――そう。強○は犯罪だ。だが、今は違う。これはあくまで人助け、人助けなんだ！ 『はいはい。人助け人助け』 と、脳内エロ戦乙女“ヒルデたん”が妖艶に微笑むのを無視し、少女に覆い被さるように四つん這いになり、 口を突き出してゆっくりと少女の唇へと近づけ―― 「――――！？」 地に着いた両手をバネのように伸ばし、横転した。 「おいおい、こりゃどういうこった？」 起き上がり、ひりつく痛みを感じてまぶたを親指で拭うと、そこには血の赤があった。 ……危ないところだった。もう少し反応が遅れていたらと思うと、ぞっと身の毛がよだつ。 しかもその攻撃が“サミング”なのが末恐ろしい。 年頃の女子高生が使う技にしてはバイオレンス過ぎるっつうかなんつうか……。 「可愛い顔してえげつねえじゃねえか」 「…………」 俺の言葉に少女からの返答はない。 ぼう、と幽鬼のように立つ姿に生気はないが、静かに獲物を狙う冷たい殺気を漂わせている。 目の前の少女は“異常”だ。 いくら俺が馬鹿だからってそれくらいは理解できる。 俺のよくて中学レベルの脳みそが計算した結果、おそらく彼女は――。 「その子は関係ねえ。やるなら正々堂々出てきやがれ！」 “何か”に身体を乗っ取られている。 他人が聞けば、二次と三次がごっちゃになった電波みてえな馬鹿げた考えを俺は口にする。 「出来るのならばそうしたいです」 すると、少女の口から“落ち着いたお姉さん系ボイス”の返事がきた。 やべ、すっげえ好みの声だ。 やはりくぎゅうよりも１７才だな・・今回のでそれが良くわかったよ>>謎の少女感謝 と、まったく関係ないことを考えていると―― 「ですが、私は――！」 引き絞られた矢のように少女の身体が跳ねた。 「おい！ ちょ、ま……」 予想以上の速さで迫る手刀をぎりぎりのところで首を倒して躱し、矢継ぎ早の左ハイをブロック。 「調子に――のんな！」 「――――！？」 すぐさまローを放って少女の軸足を刈り払う。 「ぐっ！」 くぐもった声をあげ、少女の身体が横倒しになった隙に少女から距離を取る。 ――割と本気で蹴ってしまった。 あの「踏んで下さい」と懇願したくなる素晴らしい生足に痣を付けてしまったのでは、と心が痛む。 そうなったら、責任を取って少女をお嫁さんにもらってあげねばなるまい。 許せ、お嫁さん候補たちよ。きっと別次元の俺は君と幸せな家庭を築いているだろう。 「……なにがお姫様を迎えにいけ、だ」 思わずため息が出る。 どうやら、俺はラドクリアにはめられたらしい。 俺が少女の寝込みを襲ったからという可能性も考えられるが……っつうかそれが主な原因のような気がしないでもないが、都合の悪いことはこの際考慮しないでおく。 まったく、助けようとしたお姫様が敵になるとか、どこの“レイアース”だよおい！ 「そんなのってないよーっ！！ ってな。 ……BADENDだきゃあ勘弁だぜ、嬢ちゃん」 起き上がり、殺気を向けてくる少女に俺は言う。 つうか、マジで勘弁して欲しい。只でさえも女の子と戦うなんて野郎の風上にもおけねえ真似しちまってるわけだし。 それに、あの速さに技のキレ。手加減なんぞしたらこっちの身がいくつあっても足りねえ。 不本意だが、こうなっちまったらあの子を―― 『殺せ』 「ああ、殺すしか……っておい！」 俺の思考に割り込んできた糞馬鹿のせいで剣呑なことを口にしてしまった。 その糞馬鹿の名前は『オロチ』。 一応、俺のご主人様にして、最重要攻略対象。いわゆるメインヒロインというやつだ。 まあ、こいつの声がダンディボイスなもんで、性別はないらしいが野郎にしか思えんのだが。 いわゆるBLというジャンルを銀河烈風（意味はググれ）しているわけだ。 BLでもメインヒロインと呼んでいいのだろうか？ まだその道に浅くしか踏み込んでいない俺には知るよしもない。 「現れましたね、オロチ！！」 「なっ！？」 少女の口から出た言葉に絶句する。 今、間違いなく少女はオロチと言った。 ということは、俺に襲いかかったのはオロチ関係っつうことか？ 俺が少女にムフフな――もとい、救命処置しようとしたからじゃなかったんだな！ ふう、良かった。……って問題はそこじゃねえ。 「嬢ちゃんにも聞こえてるのか？ オロチの声が」 俺の言葉に少女は首を横に振る。 「いいえ。声としては聞き取れません。ですが、一瞬だけオロチの“気配”が濃くなりました」 「“気配”、ねえ」 バトルマンガにはよくあることだな。 「ま、んなこたあどうでもいいわな。で、だ。お嬢ちゃんに質問がある」 「何でしょう」 第一印象こそ悪かったが、この少女を操っている奴、案外良い奴なのかもしれん。 いや、むしろ“甘い”のかもしれねえ。 本気で俺をっつうかオロチを殺りてえなら律儀に返答せず、問答無用で斬り捨てればいい。 昆虫のように、冷酷に残忍に淡々と。 少なくとも、殺し屋とか暗殺者とかそういう手合いではないようだ。 言うなれば、誇りを重んじる“サムライ”ってところだな。 「サムライハイスクールガールとリアルバウトか。ポニテで鉄芯入りの木刀を持ってたら完璧だな」 「……はい？」 「うおっと、これは独り言。ノーカンだ、ノーカン」 ま、そういうタイプ嫌いじゃない。むしろ大好物だ。出来ることならこの腐れトカゲの代わりに乗り移って欲しい。 そうすれば、マンガやアニメでおなじみの自分に乗り移った女の子とのキャッキャウフフが出来るというのに。 具体的には、風呂に入ろうとして―― 『キャー！ 変態っ！ なに裸になってんのよ！』 「うるせえ怒鳴るな！ つうか俺の身体乗っ取ってるのてめえだろうが」 『しょ、しょうがないでしょう。アンタの身体借りないと私、目的を果たせないんだから。 あーっもう！ わかったわよ目をつぶってるからさっさと入ってしまいなさい！』 「――ったく！」 そんでもってチラ見して、顔を真っ赤にしちゃうんですね。わかります。 「ぐへ、うえへへへ」 「……それで、質問というのは」 おっといかん。妄想の世界に浸ってしまっていたようだ。 「……ごほん、失礼。で、なんだ。嬢ちゃんはオロチとどういった関係だ？」 まさか、元恋人同士だったとかいうオチじゃあなかろうな。 そんでもって痴情のもつれからヤンデレ化して現在に至るとか―― 愛は果てしなきバイオレンスって言うしな……うん。 「……私の“対”。そして討たねばならぬ相手です」 「ああん？ なんじゃそりゃ」 無数の疑問符が頭の上に浮かび上がる。 “対”？ ただでさえ俺は頭が悪いんだ。専門用語はやめてくれ。 だがまあ、一つだけはっきりとわかるこたぁ―― 『相も変わらず阿呆な男だな、貴様は。こいつは人間などに与する我の仇敵よ』 「……だと思ったぜちくしょう！」 苛立たしげに髪を掻きむしり、盛大なため息一つ。 しかも『人間の味方』つまりは憧れのヒーロー（ヒロイン？）様ときたもんだ。 ……だよなあ。こちとら人間を滅ぼそうと目論む悪の使者。 正義の味方がそれを倒しに来るのは自明の理。いわゆる“お約束”ってやつだもんな。 「なるほどねえ。正義の味方のご登場とあらば、お相手するのが“悪の怪人”の役目だわな」 五指で顔を覆いながら失笑し、少女を見やる。 すると少女は身構え、剣呑な視線を返してきた。 ……ホント綺麗な顔してんな。俺を殺そうとしてるんだぜ、こいつ。 マジ勘弁だ。微Mだからゾクゾクするものを感じてこれはこれで興奮するが……。 「女の子はやっぱ――だよな」 「……まだ何か？」 「いんや、別に」 特に言うことなしだ。あとは―― 「んじゃまあ、戦（や）ろうや、嬢ちゃん。その姿が本性ってわけじゃあないだろう？」 「――はい。それでは」 言った瞬間、少女の腰の辺りにベルトの様なものが出現し、身体中に白く光る網目状の模様が浮かび上がる。 その異様な光景に嫌な汗がにじみ出し、オロチの破壊衝動が今すぐ目の前の仇敵を殺せと突き動かす。 「鎮まれ、俺の血よ……うわっ！ なんて“邪気眼”っ！」 その衝動に自分を持って行かれぬよう、半ば無理矢理に軽口を叩く。 まだダメだ。今襲いかかるのは悪役の流儀に反することだ。 こういうシチュエーションの悪役が―― 「ヒーローの変身を邪魔しちゃあ、いけねえわな」 そのベルトから閃光が広がり、河川敷の夜闇を喰らい尽くす。 やがてその光が治まり、俺の目に異形の姿が映し出される。 「…………」 言葉を失った。 その姿は異形と呼ぶにはあまりにも美しすぎる。 ほっそりとした女性的なシルエットの身体を純白の鎧で包んだ、“仮面の天使”がそこにいた。 その神々しい姿に俺は純粋に魅了され、心を完全に奪われてしまっていた。 「その姿で戦うつもりですか？」 「――――！？」 ――馬鹿か俺は！？ 凜と澄んだ声にハッとなり、自分のあまりの愚かさに苛立たしく奥歯を噛み締める。 だが、時すでに遅い。もうすでに仮面の天使は必殺の間合いに入っている。 「はああっ！」 裂帛の気合いと共に、仮面の天使の抜き手が喉元へと高速で迫る。 この状況から俺にその一撃を躱す術はない。 仮面の天使の指先が喉皮を突き破り、肉へと食らい付いた瞬間だった。 ――轟、と俺の眼前で風が唸りを上げ、仮面の天使が視界から消え去った。 「がっ！ か、かひゅう。げ、げほっ！ がっはあ……！」 喉元を抑えながら地に膝を付き、咳と共に血を飛び散らせる。 「な、ん、だ……こ、りゃあ」 ――喋れる。声帯は無事。動脈にはギリギリ達してない。 とりあえず自分の命に別状が無いことを安堵し、状況を把握しようとフリーズしていた脳を動かす。 何が起こったのか、全く理解が追いつかない。 仮面の天使はどこにいったのかと視線を動かした時だった。 「あ、あ？」 俺の目が見知らぬ第三者の姿を捉えた。 「だ、れ……だ。てめえ？」 ダークスーツを着込み、サングラスを掛けた長身の男だった。 「無様だな」 視線に気付いた男が這いつくばる俺を見下ろし、低い声でそう呟く。 「……んだとコラ？」 元々沸点の低い俺がその言葉に黙っていられる筈もなく、ありったけの呪いの籠もった視線を男にぶつけながら啖呵を切る。 それに対し男は冷然と俺を見下ろすと、重々しく引き結ばれた口を開き、 「……弱い犬ほど、というやつか」 ――潰す。 瞬間、俺の全てがその一点に収束し、素早く起き上がると、地を思いっきり蹴り上げてその勢いのまま右拳を男に叩き込んだ。 「っらああああっ！」 ぱあん、という小気味よい音が静寂に包まれた河川敷に響き渡る。 「こ、の……！」 顔面を捉えるはずの一撃は、男の掌によってその進行を止められていた。 ――ふざけろ！ なに平然と受け止めてやがんだこいつは！？ 俺のパンチは軽くはねえぞ！ ぞくり、と寒気が走る。ああ、この感覚には覚えがある。確かこいつは―― 「重いな。“ニンゲンにしては”、だが――」 本能的な危機感を覚え、反射的に左拳を叩き込もうとする。だが―― 「――――ぐがっ！」 左拳が放たれる前に、受け止めた右拳が離れぬよう男が驚異的な握力で握りしめ、それを自分の方へと手繰り寄せた。 １００キロ近くある俺の身体を片手一本で引き摺る腕力に驚愕するとともに、さらに絶望的な光景が両目に映し出される。 それは、腰に添えられた“掌打”の構えであり、 「おおっ！」 大地を揺るがす震脚ともに、びゅう、と大気を切り裂く纏絲を持って打ち出された肌色の塊が迫り―― 「やべ……」 寸分違わぬ精密さを持って俺の顎をかすめ、脳をシェイクさせた。 痛みはさほどない。だが、平衡感覚がない。 まるで酒が一気に回ったみたいに意識が途切れ、世界が落ちていく。 ――ああ、やっぱりだ。こいつから感じたのは、しばらく出会えなかった、ジジイとの野試合みてえな“実力差”だ。 「あ～あ、かっこわりぃ」 呟き、俺の身体が地に崩れ落ちた。 ◆ 「あなたは何者ですか？」 凜と澄んだ声が耳に届き、辛うじて動く視線を動かすと仮面の天使が立っていた。 どうやら、無事だったらしい。 おもわず、ほっと安堵の息が出た。 俺を殺そうとしたやつの無事を喜ぶのも変な話だが。 この女好きな性格だけは殺されかけても変わらんようだ。 「ミノス、そう呼ばれている」 仮面の天使の声に男――ミノスが淡々とそう返す。 ミ・ノ・スな。オッケイ！ 覚えた。いずれこの落とし前はきっちり返させて貰うぜ。 「ミノス。あなたの目的は何ですか？ もしやオロチの味方――」 「いんや！ それだけは絶対にないね！！」 俺が腕をひらひらさせて言うと、仮面の天使は俺の方に顔を向け、 「……生きていましたか」 「そりゃねえぜ！？ 嬢ちゃ――痛ッ！」 あまりにツンツンな仮面の天使の反応に、身体を起こそうとすると、金槌で殴られたみたいな激しい頭痛がしてまた倒れた。 これがいわゆる“脳震盪”ってやつらしい。 「……オロチの味方ではないようですね」 「ああ、俺はオロチの――それにイズモ、貴様の味方でもない」 あったりめいよ！ てか、仮面の天使の名前は『イズモ』っていうのか。 ……あれ？ イズモ？ たしかどっかで聞いたような……ああっ！ あの時、確かラドクリアは俺にこう言っていた。 『いいことを教えてあげる。“イズモ”。この名前を覚えておきなさい。 もしかしたら、貴方をオロチごと殺してくれるかもしれないわよ』 つうこたあ、あれだ、言うなればイズモちゃんは“オロチ退治の専門家”ってわけだ。 ってか、ラドクリアめ、最初っから俺とイズモちゃんをぶつける気だったな。 「では、なぜ私の邪魔を？」 「イズモとオロチが戦闘しているならば止めろと命じられたからだ」 訝しむイズモちゃんの問いに、ミノスのクソ野郎が即答する。 「命じられた？ 誰にです？」 ミノスの返答にさらにイズモちゃんが問う。 ややあってミノスの口から出た言葉は、意外ながらも予想できた人物の名だった。 「ラドクリア――契約主の吸血鬼だ」 「おいおい、冗談きついぜ。マジで」 あまりの展開に失笑が漏れる。マジでわけかんねえ。 俺とイズモちゃんをぶつけたかと思えば、ミノスに邪魔をさせるとか……。 なんつうか、行動に一貫性がなさ過ぎて思考回路が全く読めねえ。 「ともかく、俺は貴様らが戦闘を行わないのであれば手出しはしない。だが――」 サングラスを外して胸ポケットにしまいながら、ミノスは俺を睥睨するように見下ろし、 「戦闘を行うのならば叩き潰す。“殺さぬ程度に加減して”、だがな」 「て、め……！」 ぶちん、と俺の中の何かが切れ、痛みに構わず再びミノスへと殴りかかろうとした。だが―― 「――うっ！？」 俺の身体はそこから微動だにしなかった。 ――俺が、びびった……だとぉ？ ミノスと視線が交錯した瞬間、俺はこいつに恐怖した。 闇の中で不気味に光る異質な瞳が。 人間にはありえない色の瞳が。 血のような緋色の瞳が、魔眼となって俺の身体を呪縛していた。 「くそがあ……」 苛立たしげに唸り、地面を掻きむしる。 かっこわりぃ。ああ、認めるよ。今の俺はきゃんきゃん吼える負け犬だ。 「イズモ、貴様はどうだ？」 俺に興味がなくなったとばかりにイズモの方へ向き直り、ミノスが問う。 「…………」 イズモは判断に迷っているのか即答しない。 しばし、両者の間に膠着状態が続き、 「わかりました。こちらからはオロチに手を出しません」 折れたのはイズモの方だった。 「賢明な判断だな」 呟くミノスの口調に皮肉はない。 刃向かうようであれば、“殺さぬ程度に”無力化させるという絶対の自信があるからこその言動だ。 それもイズモほど手練れと相対し、変身後の俺が味方につく可能性もあるというのに、だ。 そこには蛮勇も驕りもない。 機械のように相手との力量差を推し量り、必勝できるだけの実力があるとミノスは考えているのだ。 そして、ミノスは間違いなくその力を持っている。そう俺は確信する。 悔しいが、今の実力ではオロチの力を持ってしても敵わないという予感がある。 だが―― 「おい、ミノス！」 「……何だ？」 再びミノスがこちらを睥睨する。 その眼は、羽虫か何かを見ているかのようだった。 それに対し怒りはある。力が及ばないことは百も承知である。 だが―― 「……これで勝ったと思うなよ」 三流の悪役っつうかやられ役がよく使う捨て台詞を俺は言う。 かっこわりぃ。だが、今の俺にはちょうど良い。 こんな気持ちになったのは久しぶりだ。 底なし沼に足からずぶずぶ沈んでいくような。何千回も悪夢を見せられているような気分。 ――だから嫌いなんだ俺は、この“負ける”っていうやつが。 しかも今回はミノスに負け、自分にも負けた。 ミノスという強大な獣を前にし、負け犬の俺は尻尾を巻いてくうんと唸って逃げちまった。 ――俺はそんな自分を許せねえ。 確かに“今の俺”じゃあ奴には勝てねえ。 だからといって、奴に勝る実力を得るまで修行をするつもりもねえ。 次だ。次会ったら潰す。ぎったぎたにしてやる。 「だらああああぁっ！！」 だから今、俺は吼える。 かませ犬のように目の前の獣に必死で牙を剥き、唸り、虚勢を張り、ミノスへと飛びかかり―― 「……馬鹿が」 これでもかってくらい顔面にミノスの拳をめり込ませ、地面へと叩きつけられた。 ◆ 温かい。 ここはどこだろう？ まるで広い海に浮かんでいるような。ゆりかごに揺れているような。 とてもとても心地よく、懐かしい感覚だった。 「――ましたか」 「……うん？」 薄ぼんやりと目を開くと誰かの顔がそこにあった。 同時に、頭に心地よい柔らかな感触と、髪を誰かに撫でられている感触を覚える。 「気がつきましたか？」 凜と澄んだ女声が、耳にすう、と入り込み、完全に開かれた目が慈愛の笑みを浮かべる少女の顔を映し出す。 ……なんだ？ 何がどうなっている？ 確か俺はミノスの野郎に飛びかかって―― ああ、そっか。俺はまた負けたのか。 不思議と今悔しさはない。多分これから嫌ってくらいに襲ってくるだろうし、今はこの心地よさに甘え――ん？ そこで、ようやく俺は違和感に気付いた。 今、俺の視線の先にはこちらを見下ろす形のイズモちゃん（少女形態）の顔があって、 頭にはなにやら柔らかな感触が――――ってこの状況はまさか！！！？ 俺の夢想する『真実の愛』においてもっとも有名なシチュエーション！ キングオブキングス！ 直球ど真ん中１５０キロのストレート！ いわゆる“HIZAMAKURA”というやつでは！！！ 「うきょろきょきょーーーん！」 「なあっ！」 突然の甘酸っぱい展開に理性を抑えきれず、口から奇声となってほとばしったパトスに イズモちゃんが驚き、立ち上がり、重力に引かれた俺の頭が地面に落ちる。 「ぐえっ！」 潰れたヒキガエルのような声が出た。 ちょっと後頭部が痛い。だが―― 「だ、大丈夫ですか？」
